Hi

Also sent a mail to him, again may be interested in some odd bits, but not the car. Will let you know if he gets back to me.

I'm going to have a look tomorow pm and will take a camera. I'll have a look at the state of the body just in case it's not as bad as it looks.  I suspect it's only fit for one thing however.

I went to se this car yesterday. Sadly it's worse than it looks in the photo and theres very little salvageable. The onwer knows little of its history except that it was recovered from a yard clearance in Cromer (Next to the sea - hence the condition) a couple of years ago.

Every panel is shot, anything that was chromed is pitted even the wheels have got serious corrosion. The interior is better but still very tired. The dash & instrument panel might clean up OK.

On the plus side it does have rebuildable struts that look to be OK.

I'll be going back to get some brightwork shortly. If anyone wants me to look out for other parts while I'm there then let me know.

just curious from an historic stand point did it have the awesome early style yellow instruments? Never been sure if UK cars ever had them and this is the earliest rhd I've heard of recently

Now that is a good question. I'm going back to it on Monday - if it's got them I'll rescue them.

Matt,
Jealous about the window winder handles, been looking for one of the early ones with the round handles and brown shafts. Saw some for sale a while ago but with square handles which I guess were from car. Anyone have one available?

I may do - I'll check.

As far as I can tell the square ones were for S2 pre F/L.

Matt  - I haven't got your shiny bits yet but I'm over there tomorrow pm to prise them free!

Hi Stuart

Mine is a pre f/l Spider and has the round handles, maybe the square are from coupe or Berlina pre f/l. I gues pre f/l due to brown colour when later ones had black I think.

Peter,

Not Berlina - they were quite different but having looked at the phots I could find I must admit the only cars that definitely had square ones were early HPEs!

Perhaps it's another case of what they had lying around at the time?
