A friend of mine needs a starter for his '82 Trevi 2000.
I have no idea if the starter was the same throughout the production life of these cars (Beta/Trevi)
He seems to think he needs a starter from a series 3 car, but I'm not so sure.
Can anyone enlighten me as to the situation?
I can't find a manufacturer's listing for either car from my local autoelectric store. (Aside from the alternator)
Thanks.

I currently have a Series 3 starter motor fitted to my S2/FL car - this works fine.  Eventually after having both my S2 starters refurbished I'll swap them back round. I got fed up with the dodgy solenoids just going "click" for half a dozen turns of the ignition keys before it would finally throw.

The S3 starter is physically smaller and as long as it has 11 teeth you should be fine.
