I am thinking of possibly getting some calendars made up (for 2013) that record the Beta 40th anniversary somehow.  I'd get this done through Apple as the quality is tip top and they do most of the hard work for about £12 a go!

A) Would there be much interest?

B) I'm thinking of maybe some kind of Forum photo contest (assuming we have more than 10 people interested)

C) All models, road & track/competition cars from anywhere in the globe.

D) Admins could be judge or I might rope Andy Collins in?  (Or someone completely independant)

E) Two or three months images will be reserved for group pictures from events where the 40th anniversary is celebrated (From any country)

Before I go off spending time on something like this I want to gauge interest levels.  Maybe the winner of a forum poll for "Best Photo" can not only get their car immortalised in the calender but they win the actual calendar itself!   Or suggest any other form of prize if you wish...

PS:
I don't think a picture of you car on your drive is appropriate (unless you live in some kind of stately home or somewhere up in the Alps!)  Or parked in a motorway service station or supermarker car park, I'm thinking of nice setting and a clean car. Or a good action shot if your car is used in competition.

Dear all,
I don't know about a calendar, but how about getting some 40th anniversary car mats, like you did for the 35th? Our mats are now 5 years old and starting to look a little "used"!
The added bonus is they would last far longer than a calendar. What do you think?
Best,
Chas,

Hi Chas,

Car mats are going to be more expensive than a calender, plus it's an opportunity to get "your car" involved.  With all respect, mats 40th anniversary or not, can be fitted to any car and the vast majority of people will not get to see them.   I'm not sure if Mark W is looking at making another anniversary set of mats, but this idea is meant to be low cost & open to all forum members who have an equal chance to get their car featured.

Just think of the calender at work or home where family, friends & colleagues can see your actual car featured and you can tell them with great pride and a cheesey grin... "Thats my car!"  Grin

Fantastic idea - I was going to do the same but it's usually me that ends up drunk and a picture of me stripped off and draper over my Monte is only you g to give folks nightmares!! 89)

Cheers

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

Matt
I definitely would be interested in a calendar. My Beta will be ready for the 50th anniversary if pictures are required then

I certainly would be interested as well!
I believe the German Beta/Gamma club used to make one every year, but they stopped a few years ago  Embarrassed

I have to admit that I've partly plagurised the idea from the Stratos Enthisiast Club who also used to create an annual calendar although I never submitted any pictures of my Hawk (as I had hundreds anyway) it was a great way of generating club/forum activity.  Plus get exposure of the cars themselves by creating a talking point.  If we have a bit of fun by making a little competition out of it then all the better.

As long as it does not cost an arm and a leg (important in this economic climate) and allows everyone regardless of location enter.

I'm trying to think of what other little goodies we could use as prizes ... for this or possibly for future little competitions.

Count me in Matt, great idea Smiley
I've got a few action shots lined up courtesy of Tony and others Wink
I know it's a bit mainstream but mugs, mouse mats, tax disc holder, the options are endless.
