I'm intending to replace the cross head countersunk screws that Lancia used on the Beta bonnet and door mounts (possibly elsewhere as well) with some allen bolt/socket screw equivalents. As the car is in France and I can't take one off and measure it, would anybody happen to know the size and length?

I seem to remember they were pretty chunky (M10 or M12), but have no idea of thread pitch and length. Does anyone know?

Thread is M8 std. Head diameter is 15.7mm. There were at least two thread lengths 15mm with a pointed tip and 10mm with a flat tip.

There may be others but those are the two in my desk :-)

These are M8 with a 1.25 thread pitch

I saved all the good ones from the car I dismantled  (i.e. those that did not have the cross head chewed up)

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the confirmation. Could you measure the overall length of one of the bolts, please? I think for countersunk screws the dimension to order is from top of head to end of bolt/screw (i.e. overall length) whereas for socket screws or bolts, it's only the length of the shank of the bolt that is measured.

Overall length is 22mm.

That's total from top of flathead to tip of the tapered end.

Many thanks Matt. A Google search for 'M8 x 1.25 countersunk stainless 22mm' is underway as we speak...
