At last!

CSP 604V

this is the car that Tony took a picture of at Auto Italia 2007, its the first pic, i'll post some current pics soon

i am very very pleased with it now after being being at Fiat and Alfa in Bury St Edmunds (after Stuarts recommendation) after much work (and waiting for parts....)

they were happy to do the all the work despite the delays, got to take it easy as need to 'run it in' after all the head work....

there was another Beta Coupe there briefly end of last year, a red one, is that someone here? I saw a couple of pics looked good

perhaps we can all meet, i know Stuart if fairly local (Suffolk) and back on the road

in anyone is passing mine will often be parked in Market Street, Ely (CB7 4LS) during the day (10-4)

anyway here's to many thousands of trouble free miles!

It's good to see people hard work paying dividends.  I hope we'll get to see it at some of the events this year. :-)

Great to hear that and that the garage sorted you out.

The coupe you saw might have been Eddie's (One of the partners) I understant his one was MOT'd about a week before my Spider. I must mention this site to him!

The other local coupe I know belongs to a friend of a friend but I've never seen it in the flesh.

Whereabouts in Suffolk are you ?

i have a shop in Ely.

there are still a few bits and bobs to be done, it is not perfect but for a 30 year old Lancia and standing a few feet away it looks damn good. I parked it outside my shop on Saturday, lots of people stopped to look. It just looks so cool compared to the modern car and being Capri blue sticks right out against the drab greys of the modern cars parked up and down the road

The brake warning light came flickering on yesterday, given that the brakes have been overhauled i think it is more a problem with the sensor....

new carb set up is the job for this year, i see a few posts regarding this but not sure what is the best approach. I'll think about that some more, what to get, where to get them etc

the main thing for me is to use it as more or less my daily car, why spend the money and lock it away. I also run an escort RS Turbo which will get some revamping treatment now, mid life crisis? Pah! What mid life crisis

Rik,

The flickering brake light is probably low fluid sensor being triggered.  Try topping up the brake reservoir before trying anything else!

Well done on getting back on the road. Have you documented anywhere on the site what work has been done? - I'm fairly local too (Wisbech) and it may be useful to have a recommended garage fairly close, I'm determined to have the spider on the road this year!

only a hop skip and a jump away really!

not documented the works as yet this is the low down:

works were by Fiat and Alfa in Bury st Edmunds the car being taken there on a trailer, although running had stood for over a year. They are happy to take on these cars, the major issue was with obtaining parts. Some from Betaboyz, Omicron and good old ebay.

i have had done (please bear in mind i am not technical);

Head port and flowed with compression ratio taken to 10:1
new stainless steel exhaust (Betaboyz)
clutch reconditioned
rust treated and full respray
brakes overhauled completely
new rear shocks
wheels reconditioned and new tyres all round
new ignition and steering lock and repair to ignition electronics (previously temporary bypass of ingnition relay)
interior trim fixed back where needed
rolling road set up

there is more but i don't have the parts list/details with me, the parts, head work, exhaust, wheels and tyres were pushing £2500, labour £900 bodywork £2300 inc VAT


the ride and handling are excellent now

money well spent i say!
