Title: quick shift
Post by: blazer_one on April 22, 2010, 06:44:56 AM
here's a question for all.

anyone heard of a quickshift modification.

back in my uneducated days of the mk2 escort i put a quick shift into my rs2000 and it made a great difference.
( if fact it was a great car and i wish i had kept it )
oh well how many of us have said " i wish i never sold that car"

if there is a mod out there i would be keen as the beta has the longest reach i have ever used.

thanks

simon

Hi, its something Im working on now, first prototype is being tested by Lanciamad aka Marcus, see his blog
 http://www.betaboyz.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=472.0 (http://www.betaboyz.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=472.0)

you will see a few pics of it there, it has a very short shift indeed, sa Marcus for the shift length as cant remember what he said it was.

I am most post be offering a medium shift kit or/and a short shift kit. Gear lever arm will need to be exchanged. One or the other should be avail in a month .

Any questions drop me a line.

Mark

I'm afraid I havn't driven the car for months now :-[ but it really is impressive if your use to the long original reach. 2nd could almost be classed as neutral in some beta linkages :D I've used it on the road without fault, and at an all day track day where it proved faultless and very beneficial.
The cars all up and running (as far as I know) so it's basically funds permitting when I get it on the road. I'm toying with getting it taxed for the beginning of may, giving it a once over, fitting the latest bits and pieces from myself and Mark and giving it a blast to brooklands. *peer pressure required ;)*
I hope to be at most of the main italian car events this year, so if i'm in the HPE and anyone wants to look at anything, feel free to ask to have a prod around.
