Title: The Ultimate track day Beta - Abarth 033
Post by: 75coupe on March 30, 2010, 11:46:26 AM
Hi All,

Stumbled across this a while back, perhaps the ultimate use of a Beta engine/box without any bodywork to worry about....Has anyone actually seen one of these?

Apparently they were used for a a one make race series in Italy, with standard Beta engine/box modified with twin DCNF downdraft carbs and dry sump - standard head cams etc!

All I need now is a rolling chassis that I can pop my spare 2l engine and box into..... - would make an interesting track day/hillclimb car.

Thats a neat little bit of kit :-)

I wonder if the reference to the Jolly Car is linked to the rally team Jolly Club ?

Looks like the chassis is something similar to the older van diemen formula ford chassis, bit of modification to the rear of one to take the beta lump and job done  ;)
