Title: Best Clutch for Beta
Post by: tonylanciabeta on November 30, 2008, 05:14:25 PM
While the engine is out of my Spider I might as well replace the clutch.

Which of the Lancia / Fiat clutches is best suited to a 2.0 Spider in standard tune but that may well get tweaked gently in the future ? Nothing that requires muscles of Garth to operate please, nor anything that is more on/off switch than clutch !

Thanks,

Stuart

Get yourself a Volumex flywheel and clutch or failing that have your existing flywheel drilled out to take the volumex pressure plate.
Clutch diameter is larger than normally aspirated engine and feels no different under the foot.
Any decent auto engineering shop should be able to carry this out or if you just like spending a lot of money - you can get the Guy Croft to do it for you.
Wonder if it's the same Guy Croft that ran for the UK Independence Party - no prizes for guessing what happened.

If you’re looking for a standard clutch, I would highly recommend a LuK clutch
Being in the motor trade, it is the only company we use.
Fitted one to my 2L Coupe 15000 miles ago, I cover around 200 miles per week and have had no problems at all, even in trafic. not sure with a tuned engine though.

Cheers
Tony.
