Title: Fulvia Zagato [Harrys Garage]
Post by: Nigel on February 07, 2021, 07:29:39 PM
On You Tube just released, is a Harrys Garage 1st part of a series covering his
Zagato engine rebuild and other work.

Some of you will know the guys and workshop doing the work.

Interesting back story: he discovered that he'd known this particular vehicle from childhood in 73 and
talks about it on a previous video on the car.

What a superb video of an engine strip down and what a jewel the Fulvia engine is.

Lovely stuff. These are the same guys that stripped and overhauled my Beta gearbox, and their knowledge and attention to detail shines through in this video.

You would think with his 'Expert Status' he would have done a basic magnet over the body check and been expecting a nightmare.

I rather got the impression he bought it partly for sentimental reasons and was expecting extensive work. He doesn't really seem phased by their findings even though he had hoped to get it roadworthy for a while before starting on major bodywork.

Hi

I think you are correct. Have to say I did find the videos a bit long winded.

Hello from Sweden!
I saw this video when it came on Youtube, what I didīnt got at the first time....,is it THE John Day that used to run that Beta Coupe in such an incredible way some years ago, thats the shop owner?Remember seeing him           keeping a DeTomaso Mangusta behind him in a spectacular race back at the time. One of his engines is mentioned in Guy Crofts book also. What a man!

There's been many more episodes of this restoration which is now
almost complete save for dyno and snags.

Here,  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOvglCtzneM (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOvglCtzneM)  Harry takes the car to
where he first saw it outside his family home 50 years ago, and a run
through the Welsh countryside.
