Title: Water pump to rear coolant rail interface
Post by: mangocrazy on January 28, 2021, 08:39:08 PM
Simple question - does the o-ring suffice or should one also use a gasket? If it's the latter I'll probably have to resort to making one, as I don't appear to have one in my full engine set...

Hi Graham

I made a gasket. I was not prepared to trust the o ring alone.

Thanks Eric. I'll do the same.

It’s worth checking the flatness of the flange. They can bow a bit hence the leaks. I always run a flat stone over the flange to true it up.

Good point. I'll do that when I'm next in the proximity of the part in question.

Cheers,
