Title: Fuel filler flap Post by: smithymc on October 27, 2017, 03:24:06 PM Any tips on getting this off? Might get some touch up and the paint place suggested leaving them the flap to do some testing.
Vertical pin I can see, not so sure how it is secured. Appears flared at base. Tricky to get anything on it anyway. Last time I simply removed the flap complete with the spring hinge itself by simply undoing the two mounting bolts on the B post side of the recess. Not sure if this is the same on earlier cars?

The only way mine came out was cutting the pin with a dremel - it looked like it had been fitted before the assembly was welded to the inside of the wing. I could see no way to get it out otherwise. It can stay on for now until I can get a new pin made- just moved lathe and have yet to re-arrange garage. Impulse ebay buy this week makes space a premium.
