I've just bought another less than pristine Beta to enhance our yard over the festive season!
This time it's a blue '79 facelift coupe 2.0 which was left outside for a number of years.
The parts that were waxoyled are still good including the bonnet which is almost perfect and the main reason I bought it.
There's a very large OE boot spoiler on it which appears to be there since new or close to it, the likes of which I've only seen in photos but that's all the body mods there is which is bizzare I think.
It's sitting on Delta HF alloys which I'm debating keeping since they wewe only fitted by the previous owner as the original tyres were flat and cracked so I'll either buy or return them when I get the car home.
Thankfully it's a complete car and sits well so I'm hoping to be able to salvage the suspension and praying they're the rebuildable type struts.
I need a transverse arm for mine as well and I'll probably keep the engine/box/subframe assembly too but I'm going to try to find homes for the rest of what can be salvaged.
Does anyone know if the windscreen is the same as the spider's?
If it is, I'll definately keep it even if I have to construct a crate to store it in.
I'll post a photo of the thing soon and maybe someone will be able to tell me what version that spoiler came off as it fascinates me in a train wreck sort of way

The windscreen for the stick in type Coupe and Spyder are the same, so assuming it comes out ok, then a good result.

Good to hear that Peter.
I'll probably leave it in its' frame and cut the lot out to act as a support for storage, depending of course on the satae of the sills and floorpan.
I might consider restoring it if the structure is solid but as i haven't got it home yet, I'll reserve any decisions for the time being.
To be honest, I'll be bettre off if it IS beyond hope as I simply can't afford another project right now!

Closer examination of the photos I have of the car indicates it's a HiFi which may explain the spoiler
I haven't seen a decent interior shot yet and I doubt the Hi Fi is still in place but can anyone tell me what brand of stereo was actually fitted to these cars?
A spider I bought as scrap a couple of years ago had a Pioneer radio/cassette head unit with L/M/FM wavebands, a seperate amplifier and a dash-mounted fader control, all matching and aside from the cassette player needing a new drive belt, all working too which is why I'm wondering if this was the type of stereo fitted as standard in the HiFi?

I believe it was Voxon as rossocorsa says.. Is there any evidence of there once being a front spoiler on the valance? Its the right age for a HiFi. I had a 1980 facelift 2.0 coupe with a spoiler but that was a volumex one that had been added when the car was young.

I don't think you'll find rebuildable struts on a facelift

I've been doing a bit of research which mainly involves coffee and Google and yes, it was Voxon who provided the head unit.
I don't have the car here yet as i bought it off a friend over the 'net and the photos don't show the front so I can't determine if there is or ever was a front spoiler, but if it's still there then my '78 is in for a Xmas treat!
Starting to suffer pangs of conscience about scrapping it now but logic must dictate direction in this case.
having said that, I'll be looking very closely at the structure before the saw comes out.
I'm expecting it to make the 120 mile journey in the next three to four weeks when I've had a chance to make room for it and I'll judge it then.
I don't expect rebuildable dtruts, but I got a pair on the f/l scrapper spider before but the bottom brackets had rotted so you never know your luck.

Android phone! Always a challenge

I'm new to Android phones and in fact have only just got my first-ever smart phone.
The damn thing is so smart, it "lost" over 400 contacts from its' memory and i can't get them back!
I feel your pain.

On a more on-topic note, further reviews and enlargements of the photos of the coupe show it does have a front spoiler.
Yippee!

Android is fine really especially Google nexus with unadulterated bloatware free android operating system. I just find small letters are a struggle to see these days!

It was!
I treally wanted it for the bonnet plus a few little odds and ends such as the screen washer pump and a few hard-to-find pieces of trim plus I now have an engine to use as a proper template for my tappet depressor/locking tool design and to hopefully some day rebuild and uprate to a high spec.
Still have to get her home though!
