Title: 1983/4 HPE Volumex A20VLX
Post by: GerardJPC on May 20, 2014, 05:44:31 PM
This car was formerly A144 KEL and wears that registration in the pics below.  It was owned by a Forum member in Edinburgh for a while, and then sold to a chap in Lincolnshire.   I bought the car earlier this year and am just rechristening it A20 VLX.

The car is in good condition, with just slight bubbling at door tops, screen base and sunroof.  It is awaiting a new clutch at present (I am fitting an Integrale 8 valve clutch with Beta release bearing), but is otherwise fine mechanically, and is a blast to drive.  I am buying some new cloth to cover the damaged driver's seat.    The car has good Pirellis all round, although they are in the slightly narrower size fitted to non supercharged HPEs.

I also have a pre facelift 1300 Coupe that is more of a project, although roadworthy.  I used to have a 1981 Spyder 2000.

Previous owners' photos of the Volumex below.

Reverse it up on ramps and you can change it within an hour. Dead easy!

It's immobile on a driveway, no ramps available.  I will have to tow it to a garage.
