Title: Ignition Switch Failure
Post by: Hurrying Pete on February 12, 2014, 11:34:40 PM
The ignition Switch on my VX Coupe has failed.  It will switch on the starter motor but does not power up the other electrics.  Have stripped the switch down to a riveted plastic assembly with 5 wires coming from it.  If I drill out the rivets goodness knows if it is repairable or if I could reassemble it.  The only switch I can find in the UK is for a Monte Carlo but the has a 4 wire loom.  Are these switches still available in Italy?

Saw your post on lmc but can't post there.

I have a spare for the gamma which is five wire,
 same era, so should fit.

Hi Geoff, that sounds great.  Much relieved, let me know your price.

Sadly Geoff's kind offer proved that Beta & Gamma have different switches.  I looked at that used one on Ebay & found that a new one had also appeared on there.  I bid on the new one, got it & the VX is back on the road.
