Title: Insurance
Post by: andybeta on June 03, 2013, 11:27:32 PM
Hi All,

Can anyone give any tips where to get cheaper car insurance for our Betas? I called Footman James earlier today and they want over £200(!) with a 3,000 miles limit, not that I am going to cover any where near 300 let alone 3,000 miles nor break down in it in mainland Europe. I told them this add on is of no use to me but they refused to reduce their premium and told me I wouldn't find cheaper elswhere. If possible I would like to take my VX along to Beetameeta on saturday.

Regards,

Andybeta.

I've used RH Specialist Car Insurance for many years and I'm very happy with their service and prices. Give them a try http://www.rhclassicinsurance.co.uk/ (http://www.rhclassicinsurance.co.uk/)

http://www.lancasterinsurance.co.uk/classic_car_insurance.htm (http://www.lancasterinsurance.co.uk/classic_car_insurance.htm) have always been teh cheapest for me but try some of thr price comparision sites.

Unless you are very young or have a licence loaded with points, £200 for a Beta does seem high (I pay half that)

Lancaster too; £84, though only a 1300, 3K limited mileage. FJ were up to £140 last year, unlimited mileage though.

Thats not a good quote for FJ. I've currently got 10 cars on my policy with them which cost me £600, all fully comp, all unlimited mileage.

As said others to try are Adrian Flux, RH, Peter Best, Peter James etc.

This subject has come up before on here somewhere. I recommended Peter S. Taylor then and still do: 01273 820303
Never paid more than £90.
