Title: Brake schematic
Post by: f1fascination on September 22, 2012, 12:21:16 PM
Hi all, does anyone have a brake schematic for the Coupe? The one in the Haynes manual doesn't show the extra valve block bolted to the firewall. I took a whole heap of digital photos of all my pipework but sadly lost them when my hard drive crashed!
The RH front ones are fairly easy to work out, but I would really love a proper schematic or at least a scanned parts diagram if anyone could help!
I've also posted some pics of my rebuilt calipers. I disassembled them and sent them off to my local brake shop, Perth Brake Parts, and they acid-dipped and powder-coated them before I reassembled them.
They've all been sleeved and resealed and had new bleeders fitted of course.
I also had all the springs, clips and wedges silver-anodized so it all looks nice when it's back together.

Thanks Matt, what could I do without you!
Is that from the factory workshop manual or parts book?

This is from the parts manual.  There is one on eBay for £40 at he moment. (Nothing to do with me).

I find it useful because it has exploded diagrams of everything so you can see how things are assembled or if your missing something!

But I'm always happy to post up specifics things like this :)

If the guy wont ship to Australia - you can have it shipped to me and I'll forward it on for you... but I will be away fishing in France for a week at end of Sept.

Thanks again Matt, I've sent a message to the seller regarding freight so am waiting for a reply.
If he doesn't ship down this way, I would be hugely appreciative if you could forward it onto me!
I'm probably going to order some more bits from BetaBoyz shortly as a heap of my bits will be back from the powder-coaters shortly.
I will let you know as soon as I can.
Fishing in France hey? Alright for some!

This fishing trip is a freebie - last year I went fishing (been going to same place for 7 years) and my friend who owns the place had bought a Jeep Cherokee 2.5td which had blown all its core plugs.  So I bought the parts to fix it, loaded my roll cab into my MPV then spent the first two days of the holiday stripping and rebuilding his engine.  He was happy (and so was I because not only did I get to fish all week but I got to play with engines!!) so that break cost me the price of the parts to repair the engine and they were so pleased they gave me another  holiday is a freebie.

I am taking a rather hefty lathe out to his this time rather as a favour, than him having to pay for it to be shipped from UK.

It's all good karma  ;D

Shipping on a beta parts book overseas will be quite expensive they weigh rather a lot, that book is for series two pre facelift important to get the right one or it may cause confusion!

I have a better and more cost effective option given that the manual weights 2.8kg which shipping to Australia would be about £37.70

I forgot that I have the Beta manuals already in copied and converted to PDF format on CD, so I can cut a copy and zap it in the standard post. All that will cost you is postage.

OK It's not as handy as having a printed manual in your hands but you can print specific pages at your leisure and it would save you about £75

The vast majority of this manual will be useful for you, sure there are differences but the times when you run into those differences are the times that you can ask on here.  I have only just tracked down a parts manual, similar to this one in the Ebay link, but for Series 1 cars...... rare as rocking horse poo!

Thanks Matt, the seller has quoted about 50 pound freight, expensive!  I think if you could shoot me a copy of the manual on disc, that would be fantastic. How do you want to be paid?

Let me get it in the post then I'll know how much it was and we'll go from there.

Hi joe19999 and f1fascination

You have PM.

Matt, I sent them the link to my website where they can download the parts manuals up to around 78/79. Not sure if what you have on PDF is the same or later. (comes in around 240Mb)

Peter

Send me the link and I'll check - I was thinking it would be easier to set up an FTP so everyone can get access to it and then theres no postage.
