Title: Replacing clutch cable?
Post by: droptop on May 20, 2017, 04:18:50 PM
I'm in the process of changing the clutch cable on my F/L/ spyder but I can't see where it attaches to the clutch pedal.
I understand it's held that end by a pin and circlip but I just can't seem to locate it.
I took out the instrument cluster but that was absolutely no help.
I presume I'm just missing the obvious here?

Is it not behind the fuse box in the engine bay and attaches to the pivot from memory ???

I received a drawing from a member via email a short while ago and it's no wonder I couldn't find it!
There's more parts in the clutch pedal than an entire British Leyland "A" series engine!
At least I now understand how the bizarre angle of entry of the cable through the bulkhead allows connection to the pedal

Job done with minimal fuss now I know that it attaches IN THE ENGINE BAY!
I was dizzy standing on my head trying to find it under the dash  :-X

How many of you have done something this dumb?
I just discovered that I threw away the entire air filter assembly for the face-lift spyder in mistake for the assembly off an old BMW I sold years ago?
Coincidentally, BMW air filters do not fit Lancia Betas >:(
