Title: Re: 5th May Brooklands Auto Italia Post by: HFStuart on April 01, 2012, 08:10:52 PM We're on holiday in Dorest the week before so we'll pop in on the way home, probably early pm - sadly in a Seat Altea rather than anything Italian.
Title: Re: 5th May Brooklands Auto Italia Post by: MattNoVAT on April 20, 2012, 12:40:16 PM Ticket booked today (whilst I remembered)
Also, if I am supposed to be bringing parts then please feel free to remind me. Graham R - I'll be bringing your splash panels Someone also asked if I could bring along the vast amount of wheel centre caps with the " L " logo that I have so they could pick through them for the best ones. Anything else? Title: Re: 5th May Brooklands Auto Italia Post by: TonyLanciaBeta on April 21, 2012, 10:44:23 AM thanks for the reminder Matt

Who's going? There will be fast track entry for ticket holders in Italian cars via the Campbell Entrance off Brooklands Road (B374) by the JTI Members Hill office block (Sat Nav KT13 0QN). If the Museum site is full, there will be overflow parking for Italian cars at Mercedes-Benz World, close to the Museum's Pedestrian Entrance. Advance tickets may also be purchased by visitors planning to arrive in non-Italian cars, for which parking will be in The Heights off Wellington Way. Advance tickets will be on sale here until midday Tuesday May 1st. Please note, all advance tickets purchased will be sent out two to three weeks before the event. Prices on the day will be Adults £14, Seniors/ Students £12, Children £6 and Families £35. Advance tickets for Brooklands Trust Members are on sale for £2 in the Museum Shop or via 0932 857381 ext 268 (£4 on the day). Title: Re: 5th May Brooklands Auto Italia Post by: cheeky monkey on May 01, 2012, 09:13:15 PM could anyone confirm if entry without advance ticket is also at Campbell Gate, Brooklands Road. thanks in advance jon. Hi Jon Yes. Then they usually split the queue near the gate into ticket/non-ticket holders. Then when your past the entrance gate and turned down you will be directed a sharp right. Looks like we have a really nice position that leads up to the banked track :-) regards Graham Title: Re: 5th May Brooklands Auto Italia Post by: gillybeta on May 01, 2012, 10:28:53 PM thanks Graham
last time i was at Brooklands was 2008 so look forward to this. hope to see you and finally see your beta post windscreen restoration /repaint. regards jon Title: Re: 5th May Brooklands Auto Italia Post by: cheeky monkey on May 02, 2012, 09:29:42 PM I forgot to mention.. .. I know that you all abide by speed limits but brooklands road/caenswood hill leading up to the entrance often has a speed trap so please dont be tempted to race. ive seen people stung here before.

I may be wrong but I have been led to believe they have changed the system this year and its pre-booked only at the Campbell Gate! I would check direct to be safe. Mark. Hi Mark Its ok. they assure me its for either.. When it starts to get busy advanced ticket holders will just get 'fast tracked' to quote them. So Campbell Gate if you have an Italian badge or The Heights off Wellington Way for others.. Theres no special entrance for betas .. but i let them off. here is a link to my Flickr photos! http://www.flickr.com/photos/tonysphotos/sets/72157629608443906/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/tonysphotos/sets/72157629608443906/) next event Norfolk!! hope the weather improves Title: Re: 5th May Brooklands Auto Italia Post by: MattNoVAT on May 07, 2012, 11:23:27 AM Apart from it being a tad cold it turned out to be a good day all in all, met some forum folks so I can put faces to names now, which is always good.
Met up with an old pal of mine from my Integrale racing days (12 years ago) so had a great laugh with him. Saw some excellent cars and got to be passenger in Andy C's S1 Berlina in the parade laps I've not been in a Berlina for about 25 years and I love the build quality, I wish the Coupes were built that well. Car behaved herself this week - which is always a bonus :-) Title: Re: 5th May Brooklands Auto Italia Post by: HFStuart on May 07, 2012, 02:03:21 PM Sorry to have missed you.
My favourite part of the day was the ISO Rivolta going up the hill (or possibly the Green Lambo stalling....) what a great noise. Stuart Title: Re: 5th May Brooklands Auto Italia Post by: MattNoVAT on May 07, 2012, 02:07:59 PM The ISO certainly put on a good show for the spectators.
He left plenty of rubber on the first 30 - 40 feet of the hill climb! The noise certainly put a smile on my face ;D Title: Re: 5th May Brooklands Auto Italia Post by: WestonE on May 07, 2012, 05:56:12 PM Stuart
I missed you to but loved the ISO Rivolta going up the hill. I was all set to have a go in the Montecarlo, but got sternly told as I had missed the drivers briefing and waiver signing I was not allowed. Some how I also completely missed the chance to do the parade lap so "must try harder" to actually find out how to be allowed to do these things next time. Cheers Eric |
