Hello Gentleman....and Allen(white Zagato) :)

I have an 81 Coupe USA version and am having trouble replacing my rear sway bar bushings with the new, yellow poly-bushes from Beta Boyz.  Anyone have any suggestions?  I've gotten the inner ones replaced, but it is the ones that are on the brake carrier that I am having trouble with.  I can't seem to separate the brake disc from the carrier on either side right or left and am wondering if anyone has replaced theirs while leaving the carrier on the car?

Thanks a bunch and Cheers!

Hello Todd
By sway bar you mean anti roll bar.
Have a close look and you may find the disc locating holes are threaded - well they are on my car.
You just put two appropriate sized bolts into the holes, tighten them both a little at a time to lift the disc off the flange.

But if you are lazy like i am!

You can remove the nut and bolt without removing the disc and brake shield by slightly bending the shield to get an open end spanner between the shield and bar.
Soak the nut and bolt with some sort of penetrating fluid and leave for a few hours.
This will make it a little easier for you.
Putting it back is a little tricky but will save you a lot of effort.
Don't forget to bend the shield back or you will be wondering what the strange scraping noise is.
Good luck.

Thanks Hutch! I know I can always count on you for another way :)

FYI, I'm not lazy, just tired of working on rusty crap. Shouldn't
have bought a Beta I guess...ha, ha, haaaaaaa!

Bye,
