I've bought a NOS rear caliper which is obviously OLD and I wonder if I need to replace the seals before fitting or do they deteriorate due to age?
I have a full set for all four calipers as provided by Lukas so that part's not a problem.
I don't want to waste them if there's no need and I don't want to fit the caliper if there is any chance I'd have to remove and rebuild it.

Was it wrapped in that oily brown paper, or even, like a front one that I bought, sealed in a cardboard drum? If it was I'd say that it would be Ok. If not it might be work having a good look at the out dust seal. If that is Ok I wouldn't bother with a full strip down?

Thanks neil.
It was in the greasy brown paper in a ziplock bag so I'll check that seal and go to step two (Fitting)
