Interesting there are no photos of the engine, boot or interior and the bonnet paintwork looks pretty awful, would think he will do well to get anywhere near that money given the other cars on offer.

I for one have never liked the paint job etc they did on it..

I do quite fancy the HPE which is up for sale at £2k, looks a much more honest car to my eyes (not seen it in the flesh mind you), just a shame I am at the wrong point in my refurb and like a lot of folk no spare cash to splash out.

Looks like some time/work is needed and no indication of its reserve and it does need painting which will not be insignificant.

Unfortunately the hi fi is an acquired taste especially in that drab colour, at the original auction price it looks like it wouldn't have been a bad buy though at this price difficult to say.

Looks like he's tried to clean it up a bit this time, or take some better pictures?

Still a lot of money with the ruined paint. I also agree about the style being an acquired taste, especially paired with that ubiquitous grey interior. It was an OK contrast on my red 2000ie, but wouldn't the Hifi have been better with a tan interior, or even mustard?

It would be nice for it to find an appreciative owner though.

You have to remember of course that hi fi models were whatever rusty beta was still stood in a field unsold and therefore needed the help of the painters at tickford (well it may never be proven but its my best guess). The colour combos are therefore often not appropriate for the go fast stripes and cheap spoilers. How they had the cheek to then charge a substantial amount extra for them amazes me.
In racing red or white I think they look ok other colours rather iffy, it would be interesting to know if they actually managed to do 300 of them but I suspect not!
