Title: B&Q
Post by: DrewWoo on April 13, 2023, 01:53:34 PM
Back in 1969 Richard Block and David Quayle opened their first DIY Superstore in a disused cinema in Southampton. As proud new shopkeepers they were desperate to take a photograph of their new store but felt it a little plain looking. What they really needed was for someone to park a decent car in front of the shop to liven it up. They had to wait a few years for the right car to come along but they felt it was well worth the wait. The rest, as they say, is history.

Stating the obvious, but it wasn't 1969. 1979?

They opened this store in ‘69 but assume this photo to be mid to late 70’s… 🤷

Drew i would say early 1980's as that's a MK3 Escort behind the MK2(?) Capri. That particular model Escort came out in 1980  i believe.
